Choosing the right licence

Take the guesswork out of choosing the right license with these three simple options to get you back to designing.

At a glance (plain-English summary)
  • You own your inputs (uploads, prompts).
  • You get a commercial licence to use the outputs you create with our Editor, provided you follow these terms.
  • Licences cover two kinds of things: (1) Assets you download (PSD/3D/fonts/etc.) and (2) Outputs you generate in our browser Editor (including AI).
  • Choose a licence tier (Free / Commercial / Extended Commercial) to match your use.
  • You can’t resell our source files, share seats, or use our tools to recreate competing mockup packs.
Definitions
  • Asset: any downloadable Studio Innate file (e.g., PSD mockups, 3D files, textures, vectors, animations, fonts).
  • Editor: Studio Innate’s browser-based 2D/3D/AI tools.
  • Input: your uploads (e.g., artwork, photos), prompts, and settings you supply to the Editor.
  • Output: images or video you export from the Editor.
  • Seat: one natural person using a licence/subscription (not shareable).
  • Project: a coherent campaign, product line, client engagement, or personal piece.
What you own vs what we license
  • You own your Inputs. You grant us a limited licence to host/process them to run the Editor and provide support.
  • We own the Assets and the Editor. You receive a licence to use them as set out below.
  • You get a commercial licence to your Outputs, subject to these terms and applicable law. If your Inputs infringe someone else’s rights, you’re responsible for that.

Licence Tiers

Free Licence

(Non-commercial)

For personal learning and experiments.

CAN be used for
  • Personal portfolio and one personal social account (non-commercial).
  • Personal prints/gifts (not for sale).
CAN’T be used for
  • No client work, business social accounts, advertising, or products for sale.
  • No redistribution of Assets, templates, or project files.

Standard Licence

For Solopreneurs, Freelancers & Small Commercial Projects

The Standard Licence is designed for independent creatives working on client projects or personal commercial work. It grants 1 User Seat and covers most day-to-day design needs.

CAN be used for
  • Up to 5,000 end products for sale (per project).
  • Unlimited digital ads and organic posts on one business brand/account per project.
  • Broadcast/streaming up to 500,000 lifetime viewers per project.
  • Web/display use, pitch decks, ecommerce listings.
CAN’T be used for
  • No app/game/web-app embedding beyond promo assets (see Extended).
  • No reselling Assets or turning them into competing mockup/template packs.

Extended Licence

(For Teams, Agencies & Large Scale Usage)

The Extended Licence is for creative teams requiring multi-seat access, or for projects that demand unlimited reproduction rights. This is the essential choice for agencies and high-visibility campaigns.

CAN be used for
  • Up to 250,000 end products for sale (per project).
  • Unlimited business social accounts for the licensed brand/project.
  • Apps, web apps, games: up to 250,000 downloads/users per title.
  • Fonts may be used in logos and as webfonts for the licensed brand.
  • National/global ad campaigns permitted.
CAN’T be used for
  • Still no resale of our source Assets or template-as-a-service offerings.

Mockup Generator & AI

Specific Terms
  • Use the Editor to create Outputs that support your mockups and campaigns.
  • Don’t include third-party logos/brands, public figures or likenesses, unlawful/explicit/hate content, or anything you don’t have rights to use.
  • Automated moderation is in place; violating inputs/outputs may be blocked or removed and access suspended.
  • You’re responsible for any required model/property releases for your uploads.
  • Don’t use our Assets or Outputs to train AI models without written consent.
AI Credits (Editor)
  • Exports/renders consume credits as stated in-app/plan pages.
  • Credits are per seat and non-transferable; promotional credits may expire.
  • Failed generations that breach policy don’t consume credits; failures due to device/bandwidth may (see in-app rules).

What you can and can’t do

All Tiers
CAN be used for
  • Use Assets and Outputs to create finished visuals for clients and brands within your tier’s limits.
  • Edit, composite, and colour-grade Outputs as needed for your project.
  • Print and sell end products within your tier’s limits.
CAN’T be used for
  • Resell, share, or redistribute our source Assets or project files (e.g., PSDs, 3D, layered files, textures, brushes, fonts) in any form.
  • Convert our Assets into templates/mockup packs or a competing service, including “template-as-a-service”.
  • Claim our Assets as your own or remove built-in watermarks/ID where present.
  • Use Assets/Outputs to train or fine-tune AI models without written permission.
  • Share a seat between people or across an organisation (“floating licences” are not permitted).

One seat equals one person. Each user needs their own seat.

Commercial licence covers a standard social media campaign, including one business account.

That falls under the Extended Commercial licence.

Yes — if it’s non-commercial, it’s covered by the Free licence. Otherwise, use a Commercial licence.

Yes — a Commercial licence covers standard design use, while Extended Commercial adds logo and webfont rights.

Licences are perpetual, worldwide, and non-exclusive for the specific project licensed. New projects require a new licence unless covered by an ongoing subscription plan.

Yes — you may share flattened exports with printers or manufacturers. Agencies may deliver final assets to a single end-client for that licensed project. You may not resell, gift, or redistribute our source Assets or project files.

We may request reasonable proof of compliant use (e.g. project name, client, volumes). Breaches can result in licence revocation and account suspension; serious cases may be escalated.

Yes. We may update the licence terms as features evolve or to meet legal requirements. If changes materially affect your rights, we’ll post a notice and, where appropriate, email affected customers.
